Entering a new world

I have recently undergone a radical prostectomy, and quite frankly wasn't fully aware of my new 'lifestyle' I have used various brands of 'underwear' and find the Depend brand to be superior especially the elastic around the legs - I use other similar products - but when I am at work, like the depend brand much better. I use the Guards with the underwear and it make the underwear last longer for me at least. I highly recommend the depend array of incontinence products

Excellent for maintaining my lifestyle
5/5
Almost two years ago at age 60 I had surgery for prostate cancer. Due to the location of the tumor, only one nerve bundle could be spared. As a result, I have never regained full continence. For some time I used pads such as Depend Guards. However, I have found that Depend Fit Flex underwear work best for me. They are very comfortable, work very well to keep my clothes dry, and are the best solution for me with activities such as hiking. Plus, wearing them under clothes looks "normal". Though I think that I am fairly young for this I need to wear these 24/7; incontinence is just part of my post cancer life. I highly recommend Depend Fit Flex.

Good product

My Husband has Alzhiemers and has been using Depends guards since 2004 after prostate surgery. He has been using flex fit for 3 years. He is now incontinent almost all the time. I have to use a guard inside the flex fit at night as they will leak. If you had a night time under garment that was thicker that would be a great help. It would help if you had a box with 50 or more in a box. I use about 6 pull ups per day.

Comfortable, Quality Product

I am now a Depend Fit Flex loyalist. I have tried several brands, including store brands, and there's no doubt in my mind that Depends offer the best features offered by any brand. Although my physical problems don't require that I wear them 24/7, I do benefit from them 2-3 days per week.

Tips To Depend On

Tips to Depend On

  • Peel off some pounds Extra pounds mean excess pressure on your bladder. With a weight loss of just
5–10%, you can prevent this…and help control
    urinary leakage.
  • Keep on with the Kegels Do 3-4 sets of these pelvic floor muscle exercises every day, and you can strengthen the muscles that help control urination.
  • Daily dose of water Depend tips

    Daily dose of water

Drinking less makes urine more concentrated, and may irritate the lining of the urethra and bladder. Keep your bladder healthy with at least 50-oz of water a day.
  • Discuss with your doc Urine leakage can be caused by many factors, and may be improved or cured with the right diagnosis. Consult your doctor or a specialist to discuss your situation.
  • Log your leaks By keeping a bathroom journal and recording fluid intake, bathroom trips and leaks ‒ you’ll discover patterns to share with your doctor.
  • Minimize that odor While you can’t prevent urine odor, you can curb it by drinking more water, taking urine-deodorizing tablets, like vitamin C; or drinking non-citrus juices.
  • Pay attention to your diet Caffeine, alcohol, acidic foods, chocolate, artificial sweeteners, carbonated drinks and spices can irritate your bladder. If any of these trigger your leakage, remove them from your diet.
